Lee Sun-Don was born in 1959 in Kaohsiung of south Taiwan and majored in mathematics at Soochou University of northern Taiwan. In the international art circles, he is best known as the pioneer of “Totemic Energy Art.” Using universal totems to illustrate the profound wisdom of Zen and the wonder of existence, Lee heralds a new era of mind-awakening aesthetics.

The so-called “universal totem” is the visual representation of the true reality of the cosmos, its essence and multiple manifestations, and the embodiment of its balancing and harmonizing energy structure. The mystery of universal totems had once been grasped by ancient civilizations such as Egypt and China. Incorporating universal totems with Chinese cultural essences, Lee develops Totemic Energy Art, through which he unfolds the magnificence of nature, the glory of humanity, and the kindness inherent in all sentient beings. He hopes that his Totemic Energy Art will resonate with the viewers the sense of tranquility and power of transcendence.

With his Totemic Energy Art, Lee Sun-Don has won more than 47 honors and recognitions in painting, sculpture, and installation art from all over the world. In 2009, he was invited to exhibit at the 53rd Venice Biennale, in which he was commended for opening up the dialogue between Western art and Oriental philosophy. His Totemic Energy Photography was accepted into 105 competitions that are approved by Photographic Society of America (PSA) or International Federation of Photographic Art (IFPA).

His creativity's not only extend through painting, photography, sculpture, and installation art, it also transcends into different mediums such as music, architecture, and fashion luxury goods design. These unique facets have earned him great attention and accolade from the international art world. Lee Sun-Don was invited to serve as Art Director of "Art Revolution Taipei" in 2010.
